ESLW 2011 logo

Our Laboratory is organizing the European Semiconductor Laser Workshop to be held in Lausanne on 23rd and 24th September 2011, following the 27th European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC) in Geneva: ESLW 2011









LPN carries out research on the science and technology of low-dimensional semiconductors (semiconductor quantum wells, wires and dots) and photonic nanostructures (micro- and nano-cavities, photonic crystals). Activities range from growth of ordered nanostructures to studies of low-dimensional excitons all the way to development and commercialization of long-wavelength vertical cavity surface emitting lasers.

Hybridization of electron and hole states in QD molecules
Hybridization of both electron and hole states in QD molecule was demonstrated for the first time using pyramidal QD molecule system. The hybridized the hole states in such structure induces switching of hole character as well as the emission polarization, which is of high interest for polarization-controlled QD photonic devices..
